Our staff will review each entry carefully, there are limited slots for entries for this event so be sure to send in your entries soon.

I have never competed in a time attack type event can I still compete?
Yes, we ask that you send in your resume to be reviewed. Since this is a "pro format weekend" we want to invite as many participants as we can but for the safety of everyone we cannot include those with limited to no experience. If you have competed in Time Trials and Open Track events chances are you will be admitted to the event. Send in your entries early space is limited.

I currently run Time Trials, am I eligible to compete in the Global Tuner Grand Prix?
Yes, you are eligible to compete in the GTGP. We ask that you submit a resume of your experience along with your car information (VTS) Vehicle Technical Sheet. Why do lap times at Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway hold more weight than on other tracks throughout North America?
Much like the lap times set at Nurburgring in Germany, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is North America's premier road racing circuit. For over 50 years top manufactures have tuned and tested here, major championships have been decided here and history has been made in all forms of racing at this legendary circuit.

Today major automotive magazines along with top manufactures rely on this circuit to be a measuring stick to judge a cars performance. This is the only track in North America that rewards a complete package in terms of a vehicles performance and it is also the only facility that is recognized by every automotive manufacture in the world.

The 11 turn configuration is one of the most challenging racing circuits in the world with each corner and each straightaway testing both man and machine and pushing them beyond limits, yet each section offers different challenges. A lap time recorded at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is a testament to both a driver's skill and a car's performance and is recognized around the world.

This is a pro event but I am not a pro can I still compete?
Yes, we encourage everyone to send in their applications, this is a very challenging circuit we don't recommend first time competitors to try and tackle this event. If you are licensed or have a good amount track experience chances are you will be accepted.

What is the format of the event?
This is a 3 day event, run similar to Tuner GP in Europe and Super Lap Battle in Japan. The major difference is this is a full spectator event with an ALMS style pre-grid and a pro level experience for participants. The GTGP has things to do and see throughout the entire weekend for spectators from other supporting series on track you can check out the racing action all day long or check out one of the many car corrals, car shows, life style expo, vendors booths for the latest that motorsport has to offer or the manufacture booths where you can learn about new products from manufacture reps. Think of this event as a professional race weekend ( ALMS, Long Beach Grand Prix) atmosphere packed with tones on track racing and activities supported by a SEMA /PRI trade show manufacture displays taking place at the historic MRLS facility. If you like cars and the car culture this is a weekend not to be missed.

Can I have friends and family watch the event?
Absolutely we welcome friends, family and enthusiasts. If you like cars chances are this will be an event you won't want to miss regardless of the type of cars that you may like there will be something for everyone.

I have a tuning shop how do I get involved?
Submit your application and tell us about what you do. It's as simple as that. You can participate as a competing tuner along with a vendor display booth. Or if you are not ready to participate in the GTGP or GTGP Cup Race but want to show-case your products, let us know we can offer you space in the main paddock or in the Yamaha market place. This is an excellent opportunity to reach a target audience who are here because they love cars and motorsports.

I plan on competing in the event and would like to display some product or hand out literature. Can I do that?
All participants who wish to have a display as part of their paddock can do so but are required to submit an application informing GTGP of the type of display and size of area needed. There is a "participant booth" fee that is applicable depending on size of the booth. Booth space request should be submitted along with your application to compete. Due to county rules you are NOT allowed to sell merchandise in the main paddock. You can hand out information, have cars on display along with product and demonstrate how your product works but you cannot under any circumstance conduct any sales in the main paddock. If you wish to sell product on site you will need to set up a sales booth in the Yamaha market place. Please contact GTGP staff so we may forward your request onto the appropriate personnel at MLSR who can accommodate your request.

Booths will be strictly monitored by the county, MRLS and GTGP personnel. Competitors with booths will be offered premium paddock space on a first come first served basis so we can keep with the spirit of the weekend. There will be plenty of spectators coming through the paddock throughout the weekend so be sure to show your best. Again this is a "pro format weekend" at one of the most prestigious racing circuits in the world and national media along with spectators from around the world will be present.
